I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2010: Don't Let the Door Hit Ya...

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2010? We have a few words for you.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I think I have secret santa angst. On the buying side.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Dana, me too! I've already bent msbelle's ear on this front.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Hah! Me too.

Does anyone here do wishlists? I like the idea, but I wish there was some way to distinguish between "this thing exactly" and "something like this". It's challenging me on both the giving and receiving side this year.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Last year and this year I did a "nifty things" essay, explaining what and why, and also what definitely not and why. It also seems like a nice opportunity for "let me tell you about me" for family (and friends) I rarely see.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I use Amazon, but I also do a modified form of the Buffista list for my family and ask them to fill it out for me. Works pretty well.

Favorite beverage:
Tea or coffee and favorite flavor/kind:
Favorite food:
Favorite scent(s) or scent family:
Favorite color:
Clothing sizes:

Anything else of note:

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I *finally* responded to the questions my Secret Santa asked me via elfster, so, if that's you, um, sorry to keep you waiting! I keep meaning to fill out the Deena database but haven't done it yet. Perhaps I will go do that right now!

Edit: OK, Deena database has been updated. That was fun!

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Amazon has a comment section, so you can say things like "I just want a potato masher, doesn' have to be this one" or "I really want this color" or whatever.
