HA! I ♥ Steph.
edited to fix the code so ita can see it too.
it did give me migraines when I first started it
No it didn't. My sleep doc says so. Because it's an anti-headache drug. Sure, not like any anti-depressants have ever been causally linked to suicide attempts, or anything.
eta: My pique thanks you for your inclusivity, Kat.
My first bf dumped me (long distance over the phone) for another woman on finals week. The only way I got to sleep during that time was a glass of wine at bedtime. I was an even bigger lightweight than I am now. I have alcoholics in the family so I worried about it as a long term thing, but in the short term it was what I needed (short of going to a doctor and getting a scrip).
Steph, going by my experience, the alcohol stops working for sleep after a while. In fact, it's notorious for waking one up. You nap off and then when the alcohol's processed out of your system, you snap awake. So you're not actually missing much.
I've used rutabagas once a year in stew-making for St. Patrick's.
All attempts to get out of the house today failed. Until now. Shortly, I will be going out to the Valley to participate in pub trivia with some folks from The Guild fandom (including some former crew). I have the use of the car tonight so I'm taking advantage.
Won't have the use of the car Friday so if I go to Descanso, I'mma have to take the bus.

The doc looked it up at the time. There is a 1% that it happens to. I was the 1%.
Hah! I learned that my friend neighbors' code for "entertaining a boy, call later" is black camel.
I have no idea how they work it into conversation.
It was a total smart-ass thing. I was a newbie, at a party, and I asked The Boy if he wanted to play. (It suddenly occurs to me that "TMI" is just "Tim" with the letters moved around. Ha!) And because he was being all careful and shit, since I was a newbie, he asked, "You know what to say if you want things to stop, right?"
And I said, "Sure. Rutabega!"
And he said, "I was going to say 'red,' but, okay, we'll go with that!"
I said, "Well, I was just joking..."
And he said, "Nope -- you said it, you're using it!"
Perils of being a smart-ass.
t embraces her ability to be asleep within 5 minutes and to stay asleep except for occasional bladder issues, and pets that ability and calls it George
I know many of the sleepy people have had sleep tests, but have any of you tried sleeping under a CPAP? I sleep even better since getting mine, and it didn't take long to get used to mine.
The doc looked it up at the time.
The doc didn't look at the documentation they sent out with the meds, which warn that it might cause headaches. So I could rest assured that the massive headache I woke up with the next day was completely unrelated. I'm sure she'll be pissed I went to the ER for it, but she can bite any part of my ass she pleases.
I am taking Temazepam, which seems to working, sleepwise, with the added bonus that I am not doing stuff I can't remember while under the influence, the way I did with Ambien. That freaked the DH right out and he stopped wanting to talk to me at night--and late night talking in bed is one of the quiet joys of shacking up, IMO. I do have to take it an hour or more before bed, though as it takes a while to kick in.
I am also experimenting with having a glass of wine with dinner every night. I like it and I know it's healthy, but it makes me feel loopy. Like, seriously loopy.
