I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Thank god it's a minority of who I'm exposed to, but the minority of people in my online communities today who are saying voting doesn't count, blah blah blah are really setting my teeth on edge.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Please help me not throttle my cow-worker. We just had the following exchange.

Her: Can you please send the attached flyer to your students. (flyer says "Summer Language Institute, all expenses paid!" It lists some countries, a date, time, and location) and eligibility requirements. That's it.)

Me: Sure, how do they apply? Is that date and time for an info session, and if so, is it mandatory? Should they email you for more information?

Her: The workshop will be held on Thurday, the rep from the State Dept. will be there.

Me: Do they need to attend the workshop in order to apply or can they apply on their own? If so, where would they get application info?

Her: The purpose of the workshop is to give the students an opportunity to ask questions concerning the application and first hand knowledge of applying.

The flyer does not list: an application due date, a location for the application, the application process, etc. Or where to find any of this information!

I'll send it out, but she's going to have to deal with all of the questions.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Just enjoy forwarding all inquiries and watching her flounder, Vortex. The flapping might be entertaining.

CHM is actually an older mom--mid forties and her snowflake daughter is her only child. There will be no distractions from her parenting style.

Oh, no. I was raised by one of those. Every decision outside her personal experience was a fight, when I was old enough to make it one. And her experience was not one, but two generations prior to mine at the time,so very much out of step with the other parents.

I was the target of all.her.focus. It's not surprising I grew up timid and repressed.

Okay, you who've met me are laughing your asses off. But most of it's an act, the rest was hard-won. Poor, poor Snowflake. I wish her the best.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'll send it out, but she's going to have to deal with all of the questions.

It does have her contact info, right?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Great news, Theo. I hope it's (a) a step towards something permanent and (b) a sign the economy is gearing up.

Please help me not throttle my cow-worker.

If I can't throttle my sister, you can't throttle your cow-worker.

They are, thankfully, gone for the day, sitting with my cousin. I will say the hospice facility really nice, and they've gone to a lot of effort to make families comfortable. There's a playroom, a family kitchen, chairs that make into beds and landscaping that does a great job with a small area. The ugly question is whether he's sick enough to stay there, or have to ping pong from there to home depending on his health.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Nope. It has her name and office location. It also says "no phone calls please!" My email says to contact her for more information. I will forward any emails that I get.
