Because books.

CHM is what they mean by helicopter parenting, isn't she?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I really don't understand people.

Also, I don't want to do any work! I got a big thing done yesterday, today I got a potentially exciting phone call, and I have a big meeting on Thursday. Isn't that enough??

No, she's what they mean by asshole.

not to talk to Olivia about going out to lunch in front of her daughter when we pick up from 4K. She said it makes her daughter cry.

Translation: it made my daughter ask to go out for lunch and since I have no ability to parent effectively, I spent the next three hours negotiating with a 4 year old and we never got to eat lunch because to just say no and shove a PBJ in her mouth would stunt my precious.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Boss lady just made me lol. We just fixed a major issue, and she sent an email to the team saying that it's wonky in Explorer. I sent her an email asking if we couldn't just force everyone in the world to use Firefox and Chrome.

Her two word response: "Sounds reasonable."

Now tagless for your comfort.

Msbelle wins!

CHM is definitely a helicopter parent. Her daughter is sweet but very babyish for 4 and a half.

A couple of weeks ago she asked the YMCA to reschedule the little dancers class the girls take because he daughter gets "tired" in the afternoons. The child will be going to all day kindergarten next fall! If she can't go to 1 o'clock now how will she make it to 3:30?

The funny thing about lunch today is that the only reason we were going to Subway is because DH asked us to pick him up a sandwich and meet him at work!

Oh god, I've known parents like that. And all their kids have been exactly that -- immature for their age, prone to tantrums, and generally unpleasant.

Right, because kids actually have to learn how to live in the world.
