Just back from T or T. This is the first year we have taken the kids. We were in Pasadena, at our friend's house. We did one block, maybe 5 houses. Grace walked, with assistance, the whole way and Noah did his things. We realized a strategic error when we knew Grace couldn't say or sign trick or treat. Oops.
When we got back to S's place, Noah had a job of handing out candy which he loves more than asking for it. And Grace played with many glow sticks which made her happy.
I love our Halloween tradition which revolves around Halloween books for a month, then hanging at a friend's place.
And you totally outdid me on the Rosie front
DID NOT. You look awesome!!
Sherlock could totally act like a normal human being if he wanted to. It's just not worth his effort.
Yes, but tonight
he totally did! He flattered the coroner's assistant to check for the lotus tattoos on the corpses. He smiled at her and the smile disappeared as soon as she looked away. Of course, the cops were there, too, so she would have done it anyway. But he was much more pleasant to her and less oblivious to her than last week. I do think his lack of awareness of Watson needing some lovin' was hilarious.
He can do it when it's worth it to him.
Halloween at the PixDesigns was AWESOME! Drew set up giant speakers on the porch and played a custom playlist of spooky music, terrified whispering, and monster growls. I stood outside on the porch handing out candy. Several pre-teens nervously asked me if my fangs were real. I told them yes.
One pre-teen boy stepped up onto the path, took one look at me backlight, with ominous noised coming from the house, and paused. I grinned, and he turned around to leave; his friends had to push him toward me. I WIN!

best costume tonight:
Organ grinder monkey complete with crank mom and dad were dressed as poor victorainish ragamuffins . Little monkey had begging cup to collect candy and bring it back to the "organ" which was the wagon.
Wow, that's a hell of a goal-line stand the Saints just put on.
FUCK YEAH! That game was awesome! Our friends hooked up a projection situation in their courtyard so we could see each and every interception and fumble clear as day. I would have certainly preferred the Saints not contributing to that particular stat, but it all worked out.
We had Halloween on two fronts. Isaac went with his friends, Franny went with hers. I'm sure the kids loved it, but it was a bit frantic for the 'rents.
I am officially a high strung ditz, btw. egad.
I think my favorite part of the day was being dressed up like a witch the whole time.
We ran out of candy at 8, which means we had 150 t n Ts. The best costume was a grown-up guy dressed as the full Mike Meyers from Halloween, with a mask and plaid shirt. When I opened the door, he said nothing, but scarily pointed down at...the stroller he was pushing which had a VERY smiley almost-toddler dressed as yellow ducky.
That sounds great, Scrappy.
One of the things I bought at Super King today was dried kiwi. I just tried one and it's clear it was dried on a screen that was previously used to dry some kind of seafood. I hate seafood. I feel like barfing. There's a 1/4 lb. of dried fruit going to waste. Gross gross gross gross
