Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hysterical fake ads for the Smithsonian, Historically Hardcore.

Those are so good.

Art Crawl!!!

My university is holding a teach-in on the Japanese crisis on the 29th. I want to go but it's in the middle of the day. Although, only 30 minutes of it isn't during my lunch.

Hmmmm.

Good luck, msbelle!

The cable guys have installed my phone and left. The poor trainee was suffering from cat allergies while here, so he just popped in and out a few times before he would have to leave again. And my cat was hiding under the kitchen sink most of the time (she tends to get freaked out by visitors who are clomping around and doing things other than sitting quietly).

I went grocery shopping yesterday and splurged for something sweet for my birthday--at the deli counter, I got their "pistachio fluff," marshmallow and nuts all creamed together in a green sweet paste. They only have it for the month of March (for St. Patrick's Day), and it's my very favorite thing there (well, it and the sour cream and cheddar macaroni salad). I had some for a late-night dessert last night--yummm!

Because books.

All kinds of good vibes, msbelle!

Am sad about Elizabeth Taylor, not that it was unexpected. She was one of my all-time favorites.

Me, too. I want to watch Father of the Bride today, I think.

Punishingly Intricate

My wedding dress design was inspired by Elizabeth Taylor's costumes in Butterfield 8 !

Because books.

Aw! She was such a legend.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Programming note: TCM had previously scheduled Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf to run at 2:00 a.m. Eastern time Friday morning. My DVR is already set.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

MOG, they're still cutting down trees next door. Chainsaws, all day yesterday and now it seems all day today. Why the hell do they have to cut down a bunch of pretty trees? The complex manager told me sweetly that they were dead, but that is clearly untrue. It's a damn shame, not to mention giving me a huge headache. I'd go somewhere else for the day, but I have to work, dammit.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Maybe Jesse has my post-crying eyeballs. I cry every day, but never look like I did. Except to the dog. The dog can always tell.

I dunno how other people pronounce hoof. It ends with an oof for me.

Yay for msbelle interview.

Meep for Allyson mom visit.

Aww, sad about Elizabeth Taylor.

The SO is out getting his hair cut, and then Spring Break mini-trip! AND it turns out I don't have Thursday night rehearsal, so I don't have to rush back!

Ooh, which reminds me, I need to launder these linens I'm sitting on for the band leader to sleep in here tonight, dog-sitting.

Okay, kettle on, gotta get moving. Happy! Man do I ever need this break.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My wedding dress design was inspired by Elizabeth Taylor's costumes in Butterfield 8 !

Cool! During my 365 photos attempt (what was I thinking? 365 pictures of myself? I'm surprised I lasted that long) the only inspired-by-outside-sources portrait was Butterfield 8 influenced.
