Don't you just love this party? Everything's so fancy, and there's some kind of hot cheese over there.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

ita, I'm glad you went and are on the road to feeling better. I hope it is a short journey.

I want. Who wants to be my new best friend?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

ita, I'm so relieved that you went in and got a diagnosis!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Damn, ita. Glad you got a diagnosis.

ION, Coelacanths!

The last picture is my fave:

The coelacanth's slow, graceful stroke is like no other fish's. It moves left pectoral and right pelvic fins, then right pectoral and left pelvic fins—akin to the cross-step of tetrapods. When the expedition team visited in early 2010, the coelacanths ignored the humans, says photographer Ballesta, except the one above: "This is the moment he tried to smile to me."

It's as if it's saying, "So, you humans have been a species for a hundred thousand years or so? You're babies! So, how's that being a new species working out for you? Come talk to me when you're 400 million years old."

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hee, yeah, that last photo makes me want a giant stuffed coelacanth toy.

Well, there's a transforming plush coelacanth, but I don't like it.

Flipping the toy inside-out allows a child to discover the evolved form of the creature

Haven't found any better, non-transforming coelacanths. But now I want to call up a toy store and ask if they have any non-transforming coelacanths, just to confuse them.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I hope they can take care of the liver probs quickly and painlessly, ita.

I'm at my yearly non-profit geek conference. 11 am the first morning and already the network is swamped. Thank goodness for my phone.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

A friend of mine has a T-Shirt with the slogan: "See La Canth. See La Canth Run!"

I'm off to another Fun shift of training -- I may be able to run the cashiering machine thingie if they let me. Otherwise it's remembering to put the eggs on top of the bag....
