And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Given the choice between something sugary and something savory, I will almost always choose savory. Good when I'm eating a giant pile of spinach. Not so good when it's a giant pile of french fries.

This is me. On the one hand, I've never had a cavity. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure my thighs are about 95% cheese.

My preferred oatmeal is made with salted water and then mixed with toasted almond slivers, dried cranberries, and a pat of butter. Maple syrup is for pancakes.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm going to try my oatmeal tomorrow with blueberries and some cream and a touch of raw sugar.

How long does the crock-pot oatmeal last in the fridge? I've got three cups left so a day? two?

Art Crawl!!!

You know, when I make a big pot of oatmeal - I usually freeze it in batches. I've never just kept it in the fridge.

Given that it's just grains and water, and maybe dried fruit and/or nuts, there's nothing to really "go bad". I've certainly kept it for days. To reheat, I generally add a bit of milk when I heat it back up.

Excellent. Then, I can make another small pot in a few days to last me the rest of the week.

I'm tempted by all the crockpotty oatmeal talk, but seriously, I only have so much space in the kitchen for appliances! I have a coffee maker (two, actually--roomie has one), a toaster oven, a kitchenaid, roomie has a blender, I just got the sodastream...I have a decent amount of counterspace, but am scared it's all taken up by small electric appliances!

meara, we have a tiny one--it maybe holds five cups of liquid--I keep it under the counter and it's great!

Try the needle nose pliers.

Har. I'm not doing too bad, actually. I've ruined my manicure about as much as I usually do when I'm NOT holding a giant knife.

Curry is in progress.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That's why I love my appliance garages so much. I shove it all in there, close the little garage door and it looks all neat and tidy. Except the penguin. That didn't fit, plus, you gotta have that on the counter! Also the KitchenAid. I bought it red because I wanted it to be seen!
