hip deep in pie

Suzi, that is awesome. I have been trying to eat better lately and failing. Snacking is killing me.

Well, thank god it's a nice day here, since my plan to run errands was totally foiled. I planned to use up all my shopping groupons and two of the stores were closed. I didn't bother going to the third since it was way across town and I wasn't about to test my luck any further. One of the groupons was for framing, so I was schlepping a small painting around with me all day.

I also went well out of my way to the farmers market to buy milk and they were out, even though the dairy was giving out samples, so I got in line.

I did manage to buy new sunglasses, a new pie plate and a belt, so I did do some things. And it was a beautiful day for a wander.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

And wont keep going but dried fruit is actually pretty close to candy.

As far as sugar content goes, perhaps. But it does have fiber and other vitamins. Sugar content is not the only factor in determining health.

Thanks. Snacking is an issue for me too. Clementines have been great for satisfying that need to munch. I like WW's basic ideas. Food choices involve trade off's. And keeping a food diary helps minimize mindless eating. I try to look up point values before I eat something.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I am totally making a pi pie tonight to take to my ungrateful co-workers tomorrow. (I made one several years ago, and then Pi Day fell on weekends for a while, and I wasn't going to make and bring in a Pi Pie on a date that wasn't actually Pi Day, because That Would Be Wrong.)

I took them paczki last week and will bring a pi pie tomorrow. I'm afraid they're going to start expecting pastry from me every week.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I wish I had peapod. I really don't feel like grocering.

Me too. I've got almost nothing in the house, and no desire to go shopping. Desire to nap, yes. Shop, no.

Art Crawl!!!

My boss puts peanut butter in his oatmeal. I haven't tried that. I like adding walnuts or almonds.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am at work now, but did get to start the day with Carmen, the Mary Sue person who designed our yard coming over and telling us what we need to do to prep for next week,, when she comes over and stains the backyard!

She was thrilled at our front yard--apparently, with several of the yard projects she has worked on, people have just let them die afterward. I don't get it--you get a free design expert and lots of help and do days of work doing over your space--why not keep it looking nice? Pruning and watering are not hard, once you get the hang of them. Plants will die, of course, while you get the hang of it, but in California is is not hard to find things that will grow.

Yes. This.

I am so happy for your continuing yard joy. And yay for awesome Carmen!
