The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I don't have any silly hats, only cool ones that cool people have made and/or given me.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am in favor of silly hat day. Or at least, I am in favor of getting up and getting a shower. I am giving myself ten more minutes of wallowing, and then I am getting on with it. You guys can let me know if there are major developments, because otherwise it`s just watching the death toll rise and obsessively checking inaccurate reports and that`s not getting me anywhere. Later on I`ll get in contact with my Tokyo missions contacts to see if that`s an effective way to give specific support; otherwise I`ll give through Red Cross. I`ve already blown a hundred bucks in overage charges, and that doesn`t help anyone, so I`ll buy regular paid time and try to set aside some charity. Then I have lots of busywork things that need done, so I`ll try to channel nervous energy into productive energy, but I`m giving myself permission to fail on that if necessary. But first, four more minutes of wallowing, then shower.

hip deep in pie

I have a love/hate relationship with sun hats. On the one hand, they keep protect me from sunburn and sunstroke. On the other hand, my head seems to get hot before the rest of me, and hats help retain heat, so I am a red-faced, sweaty mess even faster wearing a hat.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

The magnetic poles swap position every few million years.

Thanks for clarifying. That's what I meant.

I am all for silly hat day, but I think we need pictures for maximum cheering effect.

Art Crawl!!!

Just reading via twitter about 9500 people missing in one town in Japan.

My mind keeps boggling at the sheer magnitude of that quake and tsunami.

(Liese, I hope you watch Fringe because it rocked.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I still don't believe in hats of any kind (and first I typed "hates," which is also true), for me. Everyone else can feel free.

Because books.

I don't have a lot of silly hats, but I am wearing my brown baseball cap with the pink heart on it right now.

I'm letting S. (and you guys) feed me bits of the news about Japan right now. I just can't watch those images right now.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I don't care how unhealthy McDonald's oatmeal is. It's hella tasty.

Did you read the nutrition information? I don't understand where all the claims (not just from you) of it being "unhealthy" are coming from. Pricey, yes. But it seems pretty damned healthy. I don't mean compared to an Egg McMuffin; I mean in general.
