I have a love/hate relationship with sun hats. On the one hand, they keep protect me from sunburn and sunstroke. On the other hand, my head seems to get hot before the rest of me, and hats help retain heat, so I am a red-faced, sweaty mess even faster wearing a hat.

The magnetic poles swap position every few million years.
Thanks for clarifying. That's what I meant.
I am all for silly hat day, but I think we need pictures for maximum cheering effect.
Just reading via twitter about 9500 people missing in one town in Japan.
My mind keeps boggling at the sheer magnitude of that quake and tsunami.
(Liese, I hope you watch Fringe because it rocked.)
I still don't believe in hats of any kind (and first I typed "hates," which is also true), for me. Everyone else can feel free.
I don't have a lot of silly hats, but I am wearing my brown baseball cap with the pink heart on it right now.
I'm letting S. (and you guys) feed me bits of the news about Japan right now. I just can't watch those images right now.
I don't care how unhealthy McDonald's oatmeal is. It's hella tasty.
Did you read the nutrition information? I don't understand where all the claims (not just from you) of it being "unhealthy" are coming from. Pricey, yes. But it seems pretty damned healthy. I don't mean compared to an Egg McMuffin; I mean in general.
I am finishing the last of the steel cut oats I made last weekend. Fuck, I love these.
Every national disaster feels like it's piling on the last few. So even if I avoid Japan news, I see the news I didn't avoid earlier. So my brain fills in Haiti or Pakistan instead. It's really not helpful.
Thank god that Japan had so much earthquake-handling infrastructure in place, but fuck. Fuck.

I know - it makes the amount of destruction so much more mind-boggling. I mean, 9500 people missing from one town. 9500!!
