Handsome brooding vampire guy has to swoop in all sensitive mouth and overhanging forehead. How 'bout leaving some scraps for the homely-looking fellows who don't turn evil when they get some?

Swouncing

Skipping way too much (who knew that getting ready to have people replace me at work takes so much, well, work?) because, according the the Buffista Calendar, today is tommyrot's birthday.

Happy birthday, tommy! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!

Also, since I have no idea how next week will look like (what with my due date being Monday, which means that my life can turn completely upside down and have all these brand new wonderful challenging things in them, or that it'll be a completely regular work-week, who knows), I'll already post that the 17th will be Laura and her DH's anniversarry, the 19th will be Fone Bone's birthday, and that the 20th - according to Raq "If the Apocalypse Comes, Beep Me" Mar 20, 2005 11:43:42 pm PST - will be Mal's birthday, and goodness, what a big boy! Then, the 23rd will be one of these lovely double-Buffista events, the birthday of both Raq as well as Kathy Astrom, and the 27th - according to Allyson "Sunnydale Press" Mar 28, 2007 6:37:24 am PDT - will be Noah and Grace's birthday (hmm, does it count as yet another double-event, even though them being twins makes it obvious? Hmm).

Lots of early wishes to all!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Well, we just got the emergency alert system broadcasting for the tsunami warning in Oregon.

Also, because good news is important, I hope the end of your pregnancy and delivery is easy and joyous, Nilly. I am so happy you are about to be a parent.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Glad to hear from you Nilly. Will be keeping your baby's birth in my prayers.

What time are they giving you for time on target, Cass?

7 - 7:30 along the coast, from what I heard. I'm not in any danger because Portland, for all of our acting like a massively West Coast city, is inland. But the coast of Oregon certainly has all of their tsunami evacuation routes marked because it's a real danger for them.

There have been over 20 big aftershocks already. Wow.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Did the tsunami warning wake me up, or something? Seriously, my insomnia isn't usually that bad. I did go to bed before I learnt of the earthquake, so I will do some reading while I wait and see if the over the counter medication kicks in or not.

Sheeit. This is all horrifying.

NHK has the biggest quake listed as an 8.8 finally.

There is talk about how, because public transportation is stopped, there is massive traffic and people can't get home but, realistically, one or two people per car would be so much worse in terms of hysteria and gridlock, I think.

I need to back away from the coverage for a bit, I think. I can't do anything sitting her but fret.

I am sorry about the insomnia, ita. I hope you can get back to sleep soon.

Thanks, Cass.

BBC News, here I come.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Could very well have, ita. I think there are horns going off a lot all over the place.

Yeah, I saw on NHK that they upgraded it, so I think their numbers were just off to begin with, Cass. Probably wise to back off the coverage. I can't seem to.
