Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

NHK has the biggest quake listed as an 8.8 finally.

There is talk about how, because public transportation is stopped, there is massive traffic and people can't get home but, realistically, one or two people per car would be so much worse in terms of hysteria and gridlock, I think.

I need to back away from the coverage for a bit, I think. I can't do anything sitting her but fret.

I am sorry about the insomnia, ita. I hope you can get back to sleep soon.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thanks, Cass.

BBC News, here I come.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Could very well have, ita. I think there are horns going off a lot all over the place.

Yeah, I saw on NHK that they upgraded it, so I think their numbers were just off to begin with, Cass. Probably wise to back off the coverage. I can't seem to.

Oh sure, because we're not the pot and kettle tonight.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Holy shit. Tsunamis are freaky scary.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I'm glad I've already heard from my friend in Kobe, thankfully. They haven't been affected around there. The earlier Kobe quake was right after he moved there. Yikes.

Yeah, out houseguests the other weekend were here to pick up a passport for grandma at the Japanese consulate in Atlanta. I think they were scheduled to fly to Japan yesterday, but I'm not positive, and I don't know where they were going first. They were planning to stay a month.
