Kat, I'm at the one in Pasadena off Foothill, but I'm going to leave in about twenty minutes. I've been doing quizzes and need a change of scenery before I tackle the revisions. Text me if you end up at the one we went to last time--I may join you!

Crap, I just realized I forgot to figure out how I'm going to transport the galette! Oops. Worst-case scenario, I bring it on a cookie sheet, I guess.
Dear Mr. Partner, Yes, I know that what you are asking for won't take me that long, and that I will frequently do quick things on the weekends, but a) you asked me to print them, because you can't be bothered to do that yourself, and b) you tell me it is not billable, when we both know it is, therefor, you will not get them until Monday.
To sum up, HOOKERS AND BLOW.
Me.

My problem with oatmeal is always making too much. And it really doesn't keep well. I'm working on getting the prepared portion smaller. Today was successful--two-thirds cup instead of a cup and a half or two cups. Ideally it should be a half-cup, but my smallest pan just does't like cooking that shallow. Today's was nummy. 3/4 cup water, dash salt, half teaspoon sugar, handful of dried cranberries, scrape of sweet butter, 1/3 cup rolled oats, simmer for four minutes, add handful walnut pieces, three dashes cinnamon, simmer one minute, serve. Add splash of half-and-half, and if mixture is thicker than your preference, thin a bit with water. Nom!

Really? When I make steel-cut in the slow cooker I always make extra so I have it for a few days. I add a little milk or cream and heat it up on the stove.
I'm with Teppy on both preferring rolled oats and not getting the BFD with McDonald's oatmeal. I make it with milk, butter, brown sugar and raisins if they're handy -- not the height of healthy I'm sure.
Mom used to make leftover oatmeal into cakes and fry it. Eat with syrup. SO GOOD.
My appetite right now is shot. It is AWESOME. Breakfast was half a container of Greek yogurt with honey and a few bites of a rice cake w/peanutbutter. Lunch is shaping up to be this grapfruit and maybe a few more bites of that ricecake. I'm looking forward to trying having half a slice of pizza and declaring myself "stuffed" -- I've always wanted to be that girl.
So, Justified. That's a pretty good show. Wish someone had told me. Oh, yeah, you did.
Pretty funny in concert with your tag.
ita, hope you finally got treatment. I continue to be astounded at the fuckedupness of the system.
You know what's been a real eye-opener (and very helpful)? I don't know about other states, but in California, (multi-outlet) restaurants and fast food jints have to put calorie content on menus. So, it's been a real stunner to see that a Mimi's Cafe salad (any of them!) have more calories than many of the non-salad entrees. And that at Starbucks, an entire sandwich from the pre-made selections has fewer calories than one of their muffins or scones. It's shifted the notion I used to have of "all I had was a muffin" rather than "I ate a whole sandwich" since I was definitely more likely to think of a muffin or a scone as a snack and not a meal. I am very thankful for that info staring me right in the face when I am ordering. I've changed some habits because of it.
Java, yes! I've had a similar experience. I like that law. P.S. Your tag makes me smile.
ita, what everyone else has said--I hate that you have to fight for treatment every single damned time. Grr. Argh.
I graded four sets of quizzes and then fell prey to cute Girl Scouts as I left Panera. Cookie ambush!
P.S. Your tag makes me smile.
Thanks. It's outdated but I shall endevour to make it appropriate again!
