That's great news, Suzi!

Go, Suzi! Hooray, energy!
So, it sounds like the general idea of the savory oatmeal is to take stuff you might put in an omelet and have them on/in oatmeal instead. Even if that is not the idea at all, I'm going to try it because it sounds wonderful. I might even be able to talk my local diner into serving stuff to me that way - their omelettes always sound so good but I just can't eat that much egg.
Although right now I am full of chicken and stuffing and broccoli and will never need to eat again.
I do a packet of instant oatmeal with a banana nearly every morning. I hope it helps bring down my cholesterol.
Owen and DH decided they did not want to see the performance of Peter Pan tonight. And Liv is balking now. I'm missing a roller derby bout in Appleton. So much for planning a family fun night.
We scored a lot of cool pots at the local garden store close-out sale. We also got plants and put them in the aforesaid pots. Purty.
Ooh, what did you plant and what do the pots look like?
I got a ride to TJs, and am heating up appetizer stuff for me and T. She's on her way now.
I'll be able to get a ride back from the mechanic's tomorrow (I'll wave down the street at lisah) and have a ride to work. So other than a car without a functioning clutch, I'm good. Laundry and assorted tomorrow. Of course, I'm thinking of all the places I'd want to go, but...I don't need to. Oh well.
UGH. Sorry about car woes.
We got a rental that is covered by our insurance, which is a wonder, actually. The insurance, not the rental (the rental is a lemon yellow VW Bug). In the week since our accident, we have gotten the estimate from the body shop (over $3000 damage, none structural, shockingly) and insurance has cut the body shop a check so they have started work.
Insurance has also cut us a check for $600+ for new car seats, since once a seat is in an accident it's done for.
Anyhow, we had the twins car seats + us in the rental and it was a bit like a clown car.
The pots are all glazed, a deep large royal blue urn-shaped one, one pale green and a several in a lovely celadon. A couple have incised circles or waves around the edge. All of them plus some plants were $50. We planted lavender in the large blue one, and mother-in-law's tongue in a couple of the smaller ones and some agave in another. We finally planted the gigantic amber glazed pot (it's four freaking feet high) our in-laws gave us for Xmas, too. That now has a large heavenly bamboo (well, as large as we could get for $20) in the middle, with vinca at the edge to spill over.
Yay Suze!
I have the new garden bed mostly done. It could use a few more bags of soil, but there's enough there to cover all the weed paper and soaker hose. I'll let tomorrow's storm settle everything and then fill in the gaps later. My cat loved hanging out while I gardened. There's a post next to a bed of liriope, so I hitched him to that and let him play lion in the Serengeti while I carried bags of soil around.
The NC potter exhibit was lovely and a good break from the gardening stuff.
Boo, cars!
I'm going to make an apple galette for tomorrow. I should wait until the morning to make it, right?
