Sorry, Captain. I'm real sorry. I shoulda kept better care of her. Usually she lets me know when something's wrong. Maybe she did, I just wasn't paying attention...

Compassionately intolerant

I loved Ong Bak 1 after going along with a friend thinking I would hate it. It struck me later that after all the chop sockey and violence, the tragic reveal at the end took my breath away. I bawled like a baby even though I saw it coming.

Haven't seen the others. Should rectify that.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I like oatmeal with sweetener, raisins, and milk. Or peanut butter. I've never tried savory oatmeal, though. Intellectually, it seems like it would be good. I'm not sure if my inner 4 year old would kick up a fuss over it not tasting like an unbaked cookie, though.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

I almost never eat breakfast. Am I crazy? I just don't get hungry until fairly late in the day.

ION, back from estate sale where I shelled out $75 for six dresses and four petticoats. I feel like it was worth it.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

My god, Thailand is a violent place. Good thing they don't have guns, though.

Disagree!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Obviously you haven't been paying attention to the right sources, bon. My citations are impeccable.

Chop sockey, bonny? I didn't think we still talked like that.

I'd say it was! I found nearly-new Fluevog boots at Goodwill yesterday. Not my size (whaaa!), but I know that I can sell them on.

I am a non-oatmeal person. VERY MUCH a non-oatmeal person. I have bad memories of the instant stuff from my childhood. I have also had steel-cut oats prepared with butter and cream and some homemade strawberry jam, and I still didn't like it.

But Polish-American, no?

Given that my Dad was American, I'm going to say no. I'm not a big fan of hyphenating based on distant heritage.

I was the same way until pretty recently. I was finally convinced to at least have a protein shake first thing in the morning, since I'm trying to lose some weight.

Thanks, ita.

So taxes? Still awful. We have extra income coming in, and I am unsure why it's so much higher than last year, so I have some more research to do, but it's a damn lot of money.

As my reward for wrestling with the taxes, I wrestled with the new surround sound system. And I got it working! Well, kinda working. I mean, it's only half a surround right now. So, not surround at all, actually. But the SO will have to do the brackets for the rear speakers. And it's a little wonky as far as where it's sounding, and there's some buzz. But I think that's mostly to do with only half the system being set up.

So the next thing to deal with is that the whole media stack is across the room, near the projector. The SO intends to run the video cable through the roof, but we have yet to buy them. Plus once we get the whole shebang in the closet, we're going to need a Harmony remote to operate the stack. I think.

But yay me, because I got it working! Stripping cables and stuff like that is among my favorite work.
