I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Yay Kathy!!

I like Erin's vices. More, please.

Yay for people seeing my show!! As you may have guessed, I'll be performing all weekend - tonight & tomorrow on stage, Sunday bartending.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Maybe the Denver F2F attendees can try to approximate as much of this experience as possible! Dunno about the deep clean and the waterproof Kindle, but we could manage most everything else, I think!

Getting excited about the F2F! Who's thinking about going this year?

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Oh, I wish I could! We were talking about that at dinner. But, with school, and with airfare going up in price and me already booked into a trip to see my sis in April and then my brother (for his wedding) in August, I can't take the time or money, unfortunately.

Erin, did you see my pictures from earlier in February? This was me a week after surgery (with my mom)--I'd forgotten to have a true Before Pic taken in October (oops!). And this was me on Super Bowl Sunday. I'm down another 22 pounds from that pic as of today.

Edited to recalculate: I'm actually down 17 pounds, not 22--sorry!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Many interesting things today--congratulations, Tom!--and three magnificent ones: the Sugar columm--that was truly amazing. I sniffled through quite a bit of it.

Seconded.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Liese, the ballet thing sounds adorable! I sometimes wish Grace were more into princess ballet things, but honestly, I'm happy she walks on her own. Hell. I'm happy she breathes on her own. My bar is pretty low.

Me, too. I probably could eat less cheese, but I'm not sure that's a life worth living.

I actually told a coworker, "Cheese is worth Lipitor."

I started my day a work with "I need a drink." so after work, we went to The Counter with kids and my friend C and had milkshakes, fries, a salad and a beer. Noah had the best grilled cheese sandwich ever. A nice evening.

I have almost completely de-dairied, due to my skin issues, and as much as I miss cheese (and holy hell, I do, because as much as I love goat cheese, it ain't the same), it doesn't compare to how much I missed butter when I was completely dairy-free. I Cannot. Give Up. Butter.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Yeah, cheese and butter are two of my four main food groups. (Coffee and berries being the other two. Meat, bread, and greens fill in around the edges.) I went vegetarian for years, with reasonable amounts of cheese, as well as soy butter and soy milk, with no blood level problems, although there was a 60 pound weight gain. I went completely vegan for Lent one year and turned into a raving bitca. My then-roommate asked me to never do anything like that again.

Heh. I just realized that whenever I visit my former roommate she makes a point of serving a cheese plate at dinner. I guess some scars linger.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I think I went to bed too early, since I am wide awake already, and feel like I got enough sleep.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Catching up on my NPR podcasts this morning, and 2/17 was the start of the Wisconsin protests, which feel like they've been going on for a few months now, not weeks!

FTR, I think this is a watershed moment in American politics and culture.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am awake and twitchy and I don't like it.
