Many interesting things today--congratulations, Tom!--and three magnificent ones: the Sugar columm--that was truly amazing. I sniffled through quite a bit of it.
Seconded.

Liese, the ballet thing sounds adorable! I sometimes wish Grace were more into princess ballet things, but honestly, I'm happy she walks on her own. Hell. I'm happy she breathes on her own. My bar is pretty low.
Me, too. I probably could eat less cheese, but I'm not sure that's a life worth living.
I actually told a coworker, "Cheese is worth Lipitor."
I started my day a work with "I need a drink." so after work, we went to The Counter with kids and my friend C and had milkshakes, fries, a salad and a beer. Noah had the best grilled cheese sandwich ever. A nice evening.

I have almost completely de-dairied, due to my skin issues, and as much as I miss cheese (and holy hell, I do, because as much as I love goat cheese, it ain't the same), it doesn't compare to how much I missed butter when I was completely dairy-free. I Cannot. Give Up. Butter.
Yeah, cheese and butter are two of my four main food groups. (Coffee and berries being the other two. Meat, bread, and greens fill in around the edges.) I went vegetarian for years, with reasonable amounts of cheese, as well as soy butter and soy milk, with no blood level problems, although there was a 60 pound weight gain. I went completely vegan for Lent one year and turned into a raving bitca. My then-roommate asked me to never do anything like that again.
Heh. I just realized that whenever I visit my former roommate she makes a point of serving a cheese plate at dinner. I guess some scars linger.
I think I went to bed too early, since I am wide awake already, and feel like I got enough sleep.
Catching up on my NPR podcasts this morning, and 2/17 was the start of the Wisconsin protests, which feel like they've been going on for a few months now, not weeks!
FTR, I think this is a watershed moment in American politics and culture.
I am awake and twitchy and I don't like it.
oh, ita, I'm sorry.
Perkins 5:26 is earlier than I am awake! Yike!
I'm feeling sort of bleh this AM. Partly because I was up in the middle of the night.
I'm up and heading out the door in a moment to meet up with Deb G and assist in proctoring the MPREs in a drafty South Bay warehouse. Meanwhile, Hec has promised Matilda a yummy breakfast and the coolest movie in the world, but he won't tell me what it is (he couldn't anyway, as they're both asleep). Tonight, juliana's play (so ridiculously excited). Tomorrow, church and laundry. I haven't decided yet how to answer my dad about taking him to the airport tomorrow morning at quarter to nine, but all trends point to Sorry, but no (except the He lets us use his washer/dryer and lent us money we haven't paid back yet trend, which is giving the other trends a don't-be-an-asshole stinkeye).
Sounds like an excellent evening, Kathy! Boo on bad nights for ita and Kat, and boo on everyone contemplating dairy reduction.
I'm awake and researching fish oil capsules. Not as exciting as it sounds, and I'm sure it doesn't sound exciting in the first place.
It's very strange to wake up to no Sara, which also means no Nickelodeon.
