Thanks for the heads up on Pound Cake Day, Amy. I have throw together anotehr Ounce Cake in honor. I've always hated creaming sugar into butter, but in tiny amounts it's not that bad.
People don't make actual "pound" cake anymore do they?
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, nail polish, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I know somebody who regularly did -- he nicknamed it "White Death" because of the pound of sugar involved.
Yeah, not the greatest of jobs, but it does have health insurance and so on.
Yay Theo! I know it's not the job you've been hoping for, but pays more than unemployment and close to home sounds like a big yay to me!
Indeed! Especially if you don't hate it while you're there!
That's excellent news, Theo! The insurance alone is a huge plus.
I know someone asked before, but is there a difference between a crockpot and a slow cooker?
I'm pretty sure crockpot is actually a brand name, TM.
It is.
Congrats Theo! And Tom!
I have to see if my mother still has her crockpot, or if it went away in the big purge of moving. I just found a bunch more recipes I want to try.
Amy, this site (A Year of Slow Cooking) has some great recipes: [link] There's a vegetarian lasagna that I've made twice now, and it's excellent.
I also use the crock pot to make chili, for no other real reason than I feel safer walking away from a crock pot for hours, but not from a vat on a stove burner. It's not logical, but then neither am I.
Erin, I e-mailed my librarian teammates to see if they knew of any suitable positions for your sister.
