What should I do, then? Send her a gift? Sacrifice? … Unholy fruit basket?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I only caught some of today's City Arts & Lectures (Ira Glass with Dave Eggers) while driving today, but based on that sample it's worth a listen just for the Buffy content.

PBS was how I got Monty Python and Doctor Who growing up, too. That made them "educational" in my head for a long time.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

it's worth a listen just for the Buffy content.

Well, and the tangential Buffista content.

Indeed. I couldn't find a subtle way of saying that, but that does nicely, Hec.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I caught Owen looking up Paul Lind on IMDB.

I have no idea why this is making me laugh my ass off, but it is.

Our wings are not tired.

Thanks for the Bittman link, Jess. I'm having a friend and her two kids over in the morning and wanted to maybe throw together an easy frittata.

I'm going to try to record the stream next time it's broadcast, Sue.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Sorry to post and run, you guys! I got pulled away for a phone call (my dad's cousin has just been diagnosed with cancer. Fuck cancer) and then had to go meet friends for dinner.

Thanks for the suggestions. Right now I am the HR Manager. I report directly to the COO. I realize the new title will be a bit out of the loop on a resume, but I like the marketing/outreach stuff I am doing and it has to be in there somewhere. We don''t want customers or clients I deal with to look me up on our website and then say "Why was I talking to someone in HR about a technical problem?" I shall gratefully take all of your suggestions under advisement. If anyone has any brainstorms overnight, feel free to post them.

Scrappy, the only thing I'd say is make sure you keep "manager" in your title. Don't demote yourself to coordinator. "Human Resources and Outreach Manager"?
