"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm down 100.4 pounds.

Triple digits! Amazing, Kathy. I'm so pleased for you, and impressed by your diligence with the swimming, and learning new eating habits too.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Wow, Kathy, nice milestone. Congrats!

Y'all almost inspire me to actually go to the pool.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Way cool, Kathy.

I cannot swim for exercise. I know the individual bits, but it's just such horror to me. Of course, I feel that way about running, and aerobics, and, well, it's pretty clear, ita doesn't exercise if it doesn't involve kettlebells. She may do physically vigorous things, but it's not the same vibe.

Watching The Expendables. It's incredibly ponderous and takes itself very seriously. However Jason Statham is fucking brilliant, and I love Eric Roberts and forgot he was in it. Not enough Li, though. Not even slightly. And apparently I can't take Charisma Carpenter seriously.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Jilli does this about once a week, I think. She wades into the room of petticoats and goes spelunking for treasure.

Not quite as often since I finally cleared out and organized the storage heap.

Happy birthday, Jon!

brillig

Oh, and Hubby found a way to shut up the gym twinks who found his rotundness disturbing--he took off his shirt and heard the locker room go silent, then heard a whispered "Look at all his scars ... dude..." Combined with his military-short haircut, he thinks they believe he's an injured vet--which he is, but the two didn't coincide--and are very nice to him now.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Wow, Kathy! Nice work.

I know, but I just like the image of you wading hip-deep into a sea of petticoats.

Awesome Kathy!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Thanks, everyone!

I find that the pool is a great place to turn off my brain and just go. I only have to be worried about counting my laps, and that's the only thing I think about (well, that and keeping my toes from cramping up). I do have to start working on my walking, though. I think I'm going to start heading down to the treadmill at work on my lunch break, which means adding my sweats and gym shoes to my swim bag. I'm determined to be able to walk a mile without stopping by Easter.
