The Borders near me is closing. The last time I went there I almost didn't go in, because their signage made it look like they wouldn't be open for another two hours. (I think it was a Sunday around noon, and the "1" had been removed from the "12:00" opening time. Something like that.) The lights were fairly dark and there wasn't much activity. If I hadn't seen someone walk in I would have just gone on to the Barnes & Noble up the road. I pointed out the sign problem to one of the employees and got a shrug. OK, sign painting's not the check-out staff's responsibility, but if you want to improve sales figures it really helps to make sure people know whether your store is open.

Looks like the Borders closest to me are all staying open, though I had to go to the website to find out what cities they are in as they are too far away for me to go to often enough to just know where they are.

The ones near me are staying open, thankfully. Loop and Mag Mile locations, so no big surprise, I guess.

Sail, I've been thinking about the sitch in your state...not only is Walker a union-busting asshole(Somewhere my grandfather is very proud right now) but he flunked public-relations too. He is going to look like the Biggest Dick in The World(cue Bach) if they end up cracking skulls on elementary teachers. In fact, I suggest that...half the demonstrations be the firefighters and other, toughest union people...the other, cookie-baking grandmas that spend their own money to get the good markers. Of course, there are people like my mom(Proud AEA member) who could fit in both categories.

Well, crap. What will I do for two hour dinner breaks during tech when the North/Clybourn store is gone? State/Randolph will be my only remaining store.
