"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Grrrr.

Dear people on business teams,

Please do not enter a request for a copy change, and then when I request the copy you would like the current copy changed to tell me I "may want to submit a Creative Request for that."

No, you wanted to submit one a couple of weeks ago at least. And if I were going to submit it for you, I'm certainly going to need more information to give our copywriter than, "FAQ #5 needs to be updated."

No love even today, Me

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm okay with you ruining the magic if it means I won't have to answer trivia questions when I'm late for work or trying to get home from the airport, yo.

You can be pretty certain that will never happen.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jesse, ruining the magic on Valentine's Day. My god.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Haters gotta hate.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am neither a hater nor a magic-ruiner! I am a mind-easer! Just ask shrift.

Hmph.

Whatever, I'm going to keep listening to my NPR slow jams. (Currently playing? "I'm Going Down" by Mary J Blige.)

Because books.

I am a mind-easer!

I read that as mind-eRaser, and I got really nervous.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

listening to my NPR slow jams

Is that a special sub-genre? I'm imagining Nina Tottenberg doing a slow grind now.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

NPR slow jams.

Not a phrase I ever expected to read.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

God people have the stupids today. I'm asked when something will go live, so I respond with an, I think, very specific answer of 2/15 at 3am.

The email back to me is, "2/15 really means tonight, right?"

Dude, if that's the value of 3am for you, sure. Otherwise it's very early Tuesday morning, like 3am early.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

WHY does the video driver on my work laptop periodically crap out and go to 16 colours and 640x480? No one should have to live that way.
