I always wanted to see a show down between Tom and Jack Bauer.
Feh. Jack would eat Tom for lunch. The real showdown would be Adam Carter vs. Jack Bauer. Because Adam Carter, aka the Cold-Blooded Bastard, was introduced in an episode in which
he talked a woman into shooting herself.
I'm not sure even Jack Bauer could pull that off.
That sounds really good, Vortex, except for the bacon part. I wonder how it would be without it.
Hmm, the bacon is what makes it awesome. The smoky saltiness plays against the sweetness of the sweet potato.
I can't remember - are you vegetarian, or just don't eat bacon. Either way, try this one --
Sweet potato baked ziti
Dice 2-3 sweet potatoes into 1 inch dice. Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, and thyme, and roast at 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes, until soft. Cook and drain one box of ziti, pour ziti back into the pot that it was cooked in. Add sweet potatoes and mix. Mix 16 oz of ricotta with one beaten egg, then add to ziti mixture. Mix in one cup of blue cheese crumbles or 8 oz of blue cheese, broken into pieces. Pour into a greased 13x9 pan. Top with shredded mozzarella, then cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes at 350. Take the foil off and bake for another 15 minutes, or until cheese on top is browned.
For the Good Stuff tumblr. It is about football. But sometimes even Georgia football can make you weepy with the good stuff. [link]
Vortex, those both sound delish! I like sweet potatoes with risotto. It never occurred to me to put it with regular pasta.
I had some sweet potato/maple/bacon pierogi recently and they were too awesome for words.
I've done nothing important this morning so far but feed the cats. Which, granted, is important FOR THEM.
Gah. I'm supposed to take my car in this nmorning for some work. Don't wanna. I haven't walked the dog yet or showered, and it might take some shoveling to get out. Which is tricky since I don't have a shovel.
Also, the Tivo picked up the first Lenny Briscoe ep of L&O.
But, I've already rescheduled this appointment twice. Feh.
Thanks, flea!
Oh, and that dogsledding article about Girls Inc was fabulous! That seems like a great event.
Right?? I'm excited to see the "adventure sports" curriculum working out as they wanted it to -- locals are supposed to do whatever is local to them.
Huh. WLUW (88.7) has two women talking about Joss and lesbian vampires and whatnot. But I can't really hear what they're saying, because they're broadcasting from the restaurant I'm in.
