Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I voted last week. Now I'm going to (metaphorically) curl up into a little ball of political obliviousness until next Tuesday evening.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I get my news from the Daily Show and Wait Wait, and sometimes even that is too much.

Because books.

I get my news ... from you guys. I like it that way.

Sara's Hello Kitty costume is almost done, and I just need to get loafers from my mom for my costume. Yay.

Japanese Fembot Has Incredibly Realistic Facial Expressions

That's pretty amazing. It's crossing over from Uncanny Valley to just plain lifelike. Except for the talking.

Always Anti-fascist!

Apparently, i'm a glutton for punishment. Or maybe just a smartassed pawn. "Once you in it, you in it." Besides, like Allison in the Breakfast Club, I don't have anything better to do. Unlike her, my dandruff cleared up.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I'm afraid if I don't speak up or get involved the stupid assholes will keep blithely assuming they speak for everyone.

Hey Giants peeps! Did y'all know that you have 2 former LSU players?

I just found that out. More reason this series is win-win for everybody!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What will happen once Taylor Momsen is no longer really young? I've never heard any of her music, but her image seems to be aggressively "see how hard core I am for a little girl!" And, yeah, 17 is little girl for the shit she's pulling.

brillig

I feel particularly helpless in Utah, where anything that involves public money or dealing with the federal government is evil and should be stopped. And Utah apparently has one of the highest federal-dollars-received-vs-taxes-paid ratios in the country. I suppose Utah doesn't need those freeways. Or a regulated airport and railroads. And and and.

Ah, well, back to work.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'll talk to people, but I'm not watching political tv, reading political blogs, etc. Daily Show and Wait Wait are plenty.
