Normally, I hate this game but you picked a few of my weaknesses this time:

Perkins, no, it'd lift its tail to rattle. Not up up, but definitely off-the-ground-not-touching-anything up.
Okay, just that picture made me yell and jump back from my computer. I don't like snakes.
Sigh. It's the deadline to appeal my prperty assessment. Other than "Seriously you think is worth what???" I am not sure how to proceed in this.

I saw an Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake in the wild a few years ago. I was about three feet away from it and it was extremely mellow. The good thing about rattlesnakes is that they prefer to escape rather than strike, if they can. It takes a lot to provoke them.
I'm not saying they're cuddly or anything, but a lot of breeds are endangered.
JZ, You are one cool mom! I'd wait till you have the better picture of the head to identify it. But, I'd start making M wear shoes outside and bless the teacher who told her to be wary around snakes!
