Why won't my doctor's office call in my refills? The ER visit didn't touch the pain, and I'm horizontal again today.

Gopher Snake with less viper-shaped head.
Rattlesnake with the viper-shaped head and prominent rattle.
called the last dr. and did the other insurance thing. That's 7 things done. 4 more to go, but I'm getting lunch first.

Yikes, snake! Either way, yikes.
In transmedia news, I was trying to figure why I knew that one sister in The Fighter. IMDB told me she was on a Criminal Minds, and thought that couldn't really be where I knew her from, until I saw which episode it was (the one where the 80s killer's son is killing women after making them "party" in the barn, and the wife killed the killer/father back in the day and then the pregnant wife kills the killer/son) and yeah, I totally recognize her from one episode of Criminal Minds.
Man, I hate having to snopes my dad and do a reply all to a whole list of people.
JZ- i'm no herpetoglist and that photo is probably far too fuzzy to id with any certainty, but the head looks pretty oval and non-venomous.
Rattlers are totes my fave kind of venomous snake. At least they are polite about giving plenty of warning (when not surprised or stepped on).
And now my grandfather is in the hospital for broken ribs and a possible punctured lung. I am giving 2011 the stink eye.
JZ, that's possibly some species of rattler, probably a Crotalus oregonus oregonus. I've seen them out at Mt. Diablo in the past; you're certainly in the right area.
