Well, I just ordered my favorite Kona, which is from Left Coast Coffee. They also have an imprint with a less political name that I recommend to my conservative friends, heh. But I think they're great, and of course Kona is very smooth. I actually buy their darker roast, even though Kona is typically medium roast, because I think it's well suited to their particular bean. But it's not smoky at all. It's still pretty expensive. But I love the people, and it comes in an aloha print fabric bag!

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, nail polish, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Ha. We are typical. ita recommends Blue Mountain and I recommend Kona.
I had a feeling that might happen. Ha!
You know, I do like smoky but I think really what meant to say is that I like my coffee to have some body, but I hate the bitterness that so often accompanies it. So ignore the smoky. I just want something with substance without being too strong. I love smooth coffees.
I should recommend some Ethiopian coffee, then - it benefits the orphanage: [link]
Pix, have you tried TJ's coffee? I am very sensitive to bitter flavors and I really like it. Their french roast is really good.
A lot of Colombian coffees have mild flavors, Pix. Something from [link] would probably work for you.
I would recommend the coffee roastery down the street, the coffee I have had from them is pretty much what you describe wanting, but I don't think they do shipping.

That's ok; it has taken the chant of "I'm reading a book!" from out my head, where it was all day yesterday.
