Wash: So, two days in a hospital? That's awful. Don't you just hate doctors? Simon: Hey. Wash: I mean, present company excluded. Jayne: Let's not be excluding people. That'd be rude.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

On parking: I read a study years ago about people's parking habits in big lots, and it came out, obviously, that driving around and around for a good spot ended up in more time and more stress then just parking wherever. Which is totally obvious when you hear it, and yet?

absolutely. Upon entering a parking garage, I immediately go to the top or bottom, figuring that the extra 30 seconds in the elevator is far better than the ever widening concentric circles that people do to try to get a space near the door. Unless I know that I'm going to be carrying something heavy, I don't care.

Epic? What is Epic? Where's the Squatter's? Where's Wasatch Brewing? Where's the Polygamy Porter (why have just one)?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Thanks Tom - that saves me an annoying trip downtown. Maybe I'll finally call my hairdresser instead.

hip deep in pie

My minor complaint of the day is that we had over a foot of snow, and I still didn't have a snow day.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My boss actually went to work yesterday. He sent me an email to my work address, so apparently he thought I might come in.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I had an editor send me a list of bills to add to his tracking report yesterday, and then today he sent me another email complaining that I hadn't added those bills yet. FFS, buddy, we were closed yesterday!!!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Argh, tumblr! ita, your last submission was supposed to post out of the queue this morning, but now it's just gone. I'll repost the picture.

My parents have no heat. Citywide gas pressure drop. It's -4F at 9 am. It got down to -9F last night.

Rolling blackouts caused by coal-fired plants shutting down due to water pipes freezing and bursting.

The SW cannot cope at all with these temps.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's been better lately, I think.

The putting the murderer in a mental hospital so he'll be drugged out of his mind was a pretty mega douche move, but certainly one I'd consider, so I'm not that mad at him. I'm not really a nice person. And he was really nice to his daughter (breaking up with your boyfriend because he won't have sex and telling your father the truth!) and Foster.

I like the close parking spot. But I have shopping anxieties. It remains to be seen when they average out with parking anxieties. But if I can't find a good parking spot, sometimes it seems like a good excuse to not get out of the car, and I love those.

My replacement Nook came yesterday, and the UPS person didn't even knock, so it was outside the door all day. Grr. I could have had it set up by now.

I just dropped off my rent cheque, and now I'm sure I didn't sign it. I'm such a problem.

The developer who sits behind me moved. I'm the only person in my team in this aisle. I kinda like it and I kinda don't. I'm sure it won't last.
