My cat Senor Sock once put his nose up to a candle, only to jerk his head away in time (I think). Then he went and approached the candle from the other side (perhaps in an attempt to sneak up on it) and stuck his nose up to it again.
I've never set myself on fire! Not even accidentally! This is why *I* can be trusted with fire!
I'm not a big candle person anyway, but I've never lit one ever since I got my cat. She has an abiding love of knocking things off of tables onto the floor, and I know darn well she'd whack any candlesticks off the table, too.
I love candles. Love love love. I would burn them more often, but Pete doesn't like the smell of blown-out candle wicks, and, well. Trinian.
It's just so frustrating, because DreadBeastie cat never did this! Heck, even the boykitties don't investigate candle flames. Just Trin, dimmest cat alive.
Guys! The managing partner of this office, and the chief administrative bigwig of SF and Palo Alto just walked into my office to give me a gift certificate from the office to a make your own meal or take home some of our meals place, except it was only a teaser gift certificate, because they had never been to the place and didn't know if it was any good, so they want me to go and tell them and then they will give me the real GC if it is good, except the place was the Sous Kitchen, which I think is the place Megan Walker used to go a lot and really liked, so I was able to tell them that, and now I am all verklempt.
Yeah, any candles I light have to be in a cat-free zone. Mine just aren't that bright or inclined to respect space in general.
I have the same car Scrappy does. It fills its function and survives my neglect, mostly. Which reminds me, I need to take it in for a tuneup/oil change and possibly new tires. And maybe brake pads. Like I wanted another expense.
Today just couldn't stop giving. But I swam 46 laps in 43 minutes, so I think I gave a little back.
Aw, Perkins, that's an excellent gift!
Perkins, yay for your office!
Perkins, that's so nice! Yay, office.
