I mean, I get where the dietician is coming from -- she has the orders as stated from the doc in the computer. Accordingly she has a limited number of foods that she can send without contravening the doctor's orders. If I were a litigious type and she sent the wrong thing and it caused an issue with the g-tube she COULD be in serious trouble.
Many medical professionals are wigged by what we do -- our willingness to push food through a tube and our willingness to abandon formula. They see it as dangerous though of course real food is what the body does best with. For an oral eating kid Grace's age, one would never just give her cans of formula!
But it hasn't been a problem until now. Next time I'll just blend and bring food and then it will show up as she is not eating at all. So fine by me. until the doc calls CPS.
I also just but an Odwalla Protein shake. It doesn't have enough calories nor enough protein, but it should be okay for a meal or two.
So, this is why I don't save as much as I should: I'm sitting here thinking that what I really want to do with my day is get a mani/pedi and eyebrow wax! Frivolous.
I totally want what Jesse wants. I wonder if I can do one or both of those after being discharged?
I do my own pedis in the winter because who sees my toes. Then again also pluck my eyebrows.
oatmeal! I really need to get steel cut, these regular rolled oats are just not doing it for me. too mush.
I haven't had any of those things done by a professional in months and months, so I feel like I'm due, but that's obviously ridiculous.
I need my eyebrows attended to. And I had a toenail issue this weekend. Granted it could TOTALLY wait, but I hope to have a free afternoon.
I was already taking today off of work, but with both Lake County and Cook County telling people to stay off of the roads, both of our offices are officially closed, so I save the PTO day for later.
It's still blowing out here, but the snow's stopped and I can finally see the houses on the other side of my parking lot. I have a shovel, but I'm going to wait to go outside to dig my car out until after the wind stops, supposedly this afternoon. I'm definitely going to do it today, because the temp is forecasted to get down to -4 to -10 tonight, with wind chills from -20 to -40. Brrrr.

That's not frivolous! Your eyebrows are a priority.
Not like they used to be, sadly.
I hope y'all are staying safe in the weather back east! (I won't tell you what it looks like outside my office so you don't hate me.)
I totally want a pedicure and a massage, but I have to be careful with pedicures, because I get those white spots from not enough oxygen getting through to my nails. So I usually don't get them in the winter, just the warm weather when I'm wearing flip-flops a lot.
Second-to-last day of work, still no news. But last night I had dinner with meara (shepherd's pie, yum), and introduced her to my neurotic GSD, so that was nice.
