This is cute:
The Winnepeg Humane Society's Kitty Midnight Madness
If this video is any indicator, the people at the Winnepeg, Canada Humane Society know how to put on an event custom-built for the internet.
Apparently they've got a cat surplus over there right now, because they've put together this goofy used-car ad parody with a guy named Andy Hill, in order to drum up sales and let the public know what they're about.
Girl cats! Boy cats! Used-to-be-boy cats!
Even if you're not in the market for a new pet, it would be worthwhile to stop by just to get an eyefull of that crazy screaming cat mural on the wall.
Just got notice that the after school programs are cancelled due to weather. They haven't decided to call tomorrow a snow day yet.
School let out 20 minutes early here in KC, and we just have some thin freezing drizzle stuff.
We are under a blizzard watch from tomorrow morning til Wed. morning, and are supposed to get from 8 to 14". Wind chills tomorrow morning are supposed to be -20ish.
The bets going around the office is that school will be closed til Friday.
I went to the grocery store this weekend, so unless the power goes, we'll be fine.
I expect to be all caught up with my grading, which would be awesome. And to do some housework and bills.
I've got my shopping list for Walgreens tonight, including some milk and eggs (but no TP or bread, so at least I'm avoiding that cliche!). I'm also getting my hair cut and filling up my gas tank on the way home, and then taking out the boxes that have been stockpiling in my living room to the dumpster while I can still get to it.
If the power goes out, I'll be screwed because my heat is electric, as is everything else in my apartment.
I was just told not to come in tomorrow if it's bad. This is Texas. The fact that it's below 30 makes it bad.
Timelies all!

We're supposed to get snow turning to freezing rain. That's gonna make the morning commute oh-so-much fun.
The bets going around the office is that school will be closed til Friday.
I think the odds are pretty good on that. I just heard there's been a second school bus accident (nobody seriously injured).
I read about the Lee's Summit one; there was another?
The one with the fire truck earlier was the other one I heard about. I figure that's going to spook the school districts, which it should.
amyth, I'm so sorry. Teppy's right, muscle memory is going to get you for a while. But she was a great personality, and she knew she was loved.
Those of you in the path of snowpocalypseageddonagain, stay warm and off the roads as much as you can.
We woke up to a 56F house and a non-functioning furnace. We had a tech here in a couple of hours, by then indoor temp was 52F. He had us up and running in about half an hour, and we're all toasty again. But igloo-indoors was not fun, even for that long. So I'm wishing heat and safety to alla y'all, for the duration (and beyond!).
