Coding and Sleeping

The bets going around the office is that school will be closed til Friday.

I think the odds are pretty good on that. I just heard there's been a second school bus accident (nobody seriously injured).

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I read about the Lee's Summit one; there was another?

The one with the fire truck earlier was the other one I heard about. I figure that's going to spook the school districts, which it should.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

amyth, I'm so sorry. Teppy's right, muscle memory is going to get you for a while. But she was a great personality, and she knew she was loved.

Those of you in the path of snowpocalypseageddonagain, stay warm and off the roads as much as you can.

We woke up to a 56F house and a non-functioning furnace. We had a tech here in a couple of hours, by then indoor temp was 52F. He had us up and running in about half an hour, and we're all toasty again. But igloo-indoors was not fun, even for that long. So I'm wishing heat and safety to alla y'all, for the duration (and beyond!).

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

We're getting a coating of ice right now, and we're supposted to get a major snow dump on top of that. My department leader basically shooed us out of the office at noon and ordered us to work from home tomorrow and Wednesday.

My big worry is that we could get close to an inch of ice, and that's not a good thing in a neighborhood with above-ground power lines and lots of big, old trees.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

P. Diddy is now just Diddy. When did that happen?

I love Graham Norton for how he can have the most random mixes of people on his show. And the look Diddy made when the British comedienne started talking about farting during oral sex...but then he went on to complain about long-term girlfriends that won't fart in front of him.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I read about the Lee's Summit one; there was another?

I linked to a story about one in Hickman Mills upthread.

Jebus! The Lee's Summit one rolled over! Everyone needs to stay off the roads in south KC and suburbs. Including my family.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Specifically Ft. Wayne.

I grew up about 40 miles from there--in Warsaw. But DH's parents still live just south of Ft. Wayne. We're going there next weekend. I'm hoping to catch Ft. Wayne's roller derby team take on The Lake City Roller Dolls (Warsaw's team).

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Cool! I'll have to mention to them that I know someone from Warsaw and watch them freak out.

Yep, I read that and I was all, Well, there WILL be no school tomorrow, or else parents would be freaking the fuck out.
