Question: Will hiding in a cavern with stockpiled chocolate goods be any part of this plan?

Well, if the snow stops on Wednesday, he might have to stay an extra day, but he'll probably be able to get out on Thursday. They clean off the runways pretty quickly, even if they have to shut down during the storm itself.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I want to take a nap but the cats decided to divvy up the bed territory for themselves and not me.

BLEARGH, winter weather. They are predicting freezing drizzle early tomorrow, then Snowpocalyse #3 for Tuesday here in KC.

Oh, well. I will just plan on bringing all my grading home and getting it all done if/when we have school cancelled. AGAIN. Damn, you Mother Nature!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I walked to the library and back, so I was again amazed at the snowpiles higher than my head. There's not much place left to put the damn stuff.

The last time we had a big one-day snowstorm (back in '99 or so, IIRC), we had 22" dumped in 24 hours. My parking lot was only able to move so much of it, and ended up leaving a few spots buried in the snow they couldn't put onto the grass. A week later, they ended up bringing in Bobcats to move the piles and dump trucks to put the snow into.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That's a lovely photo! And congrats on the mile!

Happy day, Anne!

We went to the dog sled races today. Overslept, so we didn't make it to the big numbers; they were doing three and four dog races by the time we got there, but still super awesome. It was the first time I'd been, so I was excited.

The SO went last year, and he said you couldn't even see the parking lot existed because of how high the snow drifts were. But this year driving up we were worried there wouldn't be enough snow on the track for the dogs. But it was fine since it was at 9100 feet.

We are expecting precipitation this week as well, and it's windy and cloudy, so we probably really will get it. But I'm guessing it's likely to be rain. I hauled the last of the firewood anyway. I think we'll need to buy one more cord if we can get it. But what we have split is under cover, anyway.
