And it's probably better to get a mediocre deal on a car you really like than a great deal on a car you don't. 'Course a great deal on a car you really like is the happiest.
E-mail all the local dealers in the area for Internet quotes so you have an idea of how low they're willing to start (and so you have quotes to show the dealer you actually want to buy your car from).
