We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I tend to quote Aliens more than anything else. "It's the only way to be sure" covers a lot of stuff IRL.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

usually most of that is in my head.

I've been using "Drop. Your. Sword." in my head a lot recently. But I have some aggro I need to work off.

God, I love The Princess Bride. Just love.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

ETA a comma, but I've also never seen the movie.

What? Go watch it. It's awesome and that line will make you tear up.

I'd never use Wolverine's line. Whenever he said it, I was reminded of an old critique of Alan Ladd's character in Shane: "A little kid's idea of a tough guy." Badasses don't rehearse what a badass they are in their heads.

Most of my quotage lately comes from banter with Emmett, so the likely sources are: Archer, Mighty Boosh, Flight of the Conchords, Venture Brothers or Invader Zim.

We do quote Zim a lot.

"I'll just wait until the skin grows back on my eyeballs!"

"Have you the brain worms?!" is always useful.

From Boosh: "You know nothing of the crunch!" and "My navigational skills are second to none!"

"This is an outrage!"

From Venture Bros: "This is the reward I get for years of screwing with super-science."

Also, "Hank, seriously, when I get my license back I'm allowed to kill you."

"Feel the wrath of the Monarch!"

Flight of the Conchords: "It's just going to get into this ridiculous Russian doll situation."

"My rhymes are so potent / that in this small segment / I got all the women / in the first two rows pregnant."

Actually, all of Jemaine's rap in Hiphopapotamus gets quoted a lot:

"I'm not a water dwelling mammal from Africa that's moved to the metroplois /and been taught how to break dance / where did you get that preposterous hypothesis / did steve tell you that? What's he got to do with it?. What kind of rapping name is Steve?.. Steve"

Especially just "What kind of rapping name is Steve?"

Also, Other rappers diss me
Say my rhymes are sissy
What, what, what, why, why, why?
Be more constructive with your feedback
Because I rap about reality
Like me and my grandma having a cup of tea
Ain't no party like my nana's tea party
Yo!

Especially we'll yelp out, "Be more constructive with your feedback" and "Ain't no party like a nana's tea party! Yo!

From Archer:

"Grill me a cheese!" or

"I'll rub sand in your dead little eyes. Also, I need you to buy some sand. I don't know if they grade it but..coarse."

Oh and a favorite is, "Hooray for metaphors!"

Or a very weak, "Yay" to indicate lack of enthusiasm.

And, "That's how you get ants."

Because books.

Stephen and I quote The Princess Bride and Young Frankenstein in equal measure with each other, around the house. It's funny when it confuses the kids.

Edited because I'm not actually married to a pretty girl named Stephena.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Lots of Aliens quotes at our house. And Beetlejuice.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oh yes, and ita, if you aren't watching Archer you should just to use this quote:

"Karate?! The Dane Cook of martial arts?! No. ISIS agents use Krav Maga."

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Archer is bananas. And new last night! Woot.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Lots of Aliens quotes at our house.

"Game over, man! Game over!"

That's my most used from Aliens. Bill Paxton really sells that one.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Tommy, Paul Ryan did as well.

Electromagnetic candy! - Stark

After "Dot Dot Dot" went viral last week, that became the standard bellow for a game we hate to test: "BLAAAAAM THIS PIECE OF CRAP!"

And sometimes, when I require more information from my test lead or the manager: "Explain to me. EXPLAIN TO ME!"
