And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

eating out or groceries? cuz the first is easy to curb, the second, kinda essential!

Groceries. We didn't eat out at all in December (except for buying lunch at work, but I always pay cash for that). Mainly I think it's a matter of just planning better so we don't do as many emergency runs in the middle of the week. And probably buying more in bulk.

Punishingly Intricate

My onerous task is attempting to finish this document that's been plaguing me and that I really need to do a good job on because it's the first real task for the new project I'm on. I haven't worked on it at all since I got home a couple of hours ago. Why so lazy, Self???

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

I need to make a plan to come to NC sometime this spring.

Eeee! YES YOU MUST!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

And utilize coupons and sales! All that stuff is online these days, so you can make up your list with all discounted items before you ever leave the house. The SO saved 75 bucks on the grocery bill last run.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

What is this?

Men's rights stuff. It's usually the, "women get to take all your stuff when they divorce you, plus we have to do everything for them and buy them stuff and they have all the pussy." type dudes.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Eeee! YES YOU MUST!

Wheee! We've got a few other trips that have to fall into place first, but I totally do want to come. I'll let you know when I know potential dates!

I'm afraid to track how much we spend on groceries. I mean, I don't think it's horrendous, but it could be a lot less. Part of it is that we buy local, organic, yadda yadda, as much as possible, which I'm not really willing to scale back on unless we really needed to, like if one of us lost our job. But we don't do as much planning as I'd like, and we don't buy much in bulk or use many coupons, and we definitely spend a lot at TJ's because the frozen meals are so easy to take for lunches.

Seriously? Wow.

Onerous tasks completed: half of the things my boss and I talked about in our meeting, the rest scheduled for the next two days. Vet appt. scheduled, ride secured. Calli is a hero as always, and taking me to get my prescriptions after work. First hospital bill payment in envelope and ready to go, and flex paperwork is in a stack, at least. In a stack!

Posted to stupid national recycling listserv that I hate, because boss told me to, but it won't post. Listserv senses my antipathy.

DJ, I saw that, and yeah, pretty much with the impotent rage.

I'll let you know when I know potential dates!

I AM PSYCHED.

If not for TJ's frozens, I would probably never eat lunch. Today I ate a granola bar that was leftover from bribing football tailgating recycling volunteers. In November.

I forgot to mention! They turned off the boiler today to work on it, so we have no heat. And everyone else cut out early. Earlier I was sad/overwhelmed, now I'm pissed/frozen.

But Calli will be here soon! Yay! And later I will have a very fancy sandwich with smonster.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

WOO HOO, onerous task-doers!!! GO YOU GUYS!!!
