OK, we LOVE my neighbor S's boyfriend. He's out there shoveling and shoveled up to where I stopped. Which is like 4 houses (I did 3 since I was out there to get to work and back.) He doesn't even (technically, but his car is here all the time) live here. (But he kinda does.) She gets all the handy helpful ones.

not your mom's socks.

So sorry for your loss shrift. Much ~ma to your mom and to you.

Snow is smacking us here too, but someone forgot to tell the schools. I can hear cars slipping and figure that I might feel safer driving in an hour or two, but today is a half day anyway. So, I'm thinking of calling it a snow day. Or, because DH was up all night w/stomach flu, just a plain old fashioned sick day for the house. Still need to go to the grocery store though. Blek.

Sox, maybe you can find a coupon for grocery delivery?

My ride into work was not bad, although on some of the slushy streets where you couldn't see the painted lines people were making it up as they drove along. They were All Wrong, of course. We'll all be watching out the window to see when the change over to all snow happens and then click to update our email relentlessly until we get word we can close and go home - hint, hint Mr. Uni President.

Shrift, I'm so sorry. My best to you and your family.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Four helicopters hovering over Loyola. Wonder what's going on.

I think I need to shut off the radio. I can't focus and I need to skim through reports spanning the last 17 years for software issues, and I just can't get into it.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

How long is the snow supposed to last in DC? (My sister is supposed to be flying out here tomorrow morning.)

sarameg - Jan 26, 2011 3:54:56 am PST #19039 of 30001

Um, the bulk of it is this afternoon/overnight. Warning lasts until 4 am right now. I think I'm getting much worse than DC, but she should probably spend the day checking in with the airline.

Cats keep taking my seat.

I love those. But it's next-day or after and tomorrow is supposed to be digging out from the rest of the 6-12 inches we're getting. Weather people are talking about bands of the storm, so hopefully we'll catch a break and I can take the sled up to the co-op, AND the co-op will be open and not filled with crazy people.

Ok, that's asking much, isn't it.

Yeah, she already told me there would probably be delays, but it sounded like it started earlier than expected, so I thought maybe it would end earlier too.

Because books.

We weren't supposed to get snow until tonight, and apparently it started overnight instead. We have three or more inches already, it looks like, and they cancelled school.

I have to say, if it keeps snowing at the rate it is now, we're going to be buried. I can't believe they didn't cancel school for you guys, Sox.
