That storm produced winds that gusted up to more than 100 mph, wind chills of -60, and left snow drifts 20 feet high in some areas, according to published reports. I remember that storm. I was in sixth grade, we were out of school for three days, and the whole family had to go outside every few hours to shovel the driveway to keep the drifts to a managable level.
