Anybody ever made tomato jam?

Hubby was talking about Mountain Dew jab and how you can't use the Baja Blast you get at Taco Bell for it.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Ugh. One of our grantors wanted to know the amount of salary that would be covered by their grant next month. I calculate it according to the agreement (which is, as all of them are, very detailed and specific) and run the number by my boss. She says, yeah, just send a note to her with that- oh, why don't you round it up $600+ dollars to the nearest thousand. Um, OK.

So I do that and of course the grantor is like, OK, can I have the breakdown of how you got to that number and who it covers?

SO UNHAPPY. Lesson learned: if my ED wants to lie, she can do it herself.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Man, that sucks that they threw your groceries out, ita. How many times do we all miss Kozmo.com?

Good news for me is that my dad is actually available today to start helping to excavate the St. Augustine grass my mom is demanding be saved. I have to measure and pace off the land.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

WTF, ita? Doesn't your office have a 24-hour rule? And didn't you put your name on the bag?

Fair cop. Well, ish. I left them there Friday. But they clean out at 3, so if I'd gone to pick them up at 5, they'd already have been gone. They were not labelled, but they were in a re-usable tote, and it was all TV dinner stuff, nothing that was going to go off. So I'm miffed, but I don't think I have a leg to stand on.

Replacement lunch was not tasty.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I've never made tomato jam, and I'm not sure how it would taste on a BLT. I like actual tomatoes on that sandwich. Of course, I'm the heretic that puts mayo and apple jelly on her BLTs, so take my statement with a grain of sea salt.

Aha. I have been in the same position--miffed, but more at myself for pushing the boundaries of established rules.

Replacement lunch was not tasty.

That sucks more than the tossed foodstuffs. It just compounds the aggravation.

Has anyone read You: On A Diet: The Owner's Manual for Waist Management? I'm wondering if it's worth the investment.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

FYI, Chicagoistas:

Yeah, I just read that. I suppose as long as the buses are still running I'll go to work.

Oh, yay, winter storm warnings for Utah. And there's snow on the mountains. Looks like it's starting early. My tires are good, but the heater's sluggish. Excelsior! Onward to the storms!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Tomato jam [link] is more of a relish than a jam. That recipe looks like it would be sweeter than what I've had.

I wonder if you could make tomato jam with bacon.

I think we've gained enough posters since it ended that it's not an assumption.

True, but I reserve the right to look sternly over the top of my glasses at those who don't love Buffy or at least some part of the Whedonverse. Otherwise, it's anything goes.

I'd guess the sports lovers are actually a minority, but more vocal at this time of the year. I am only baseball. I can only smile and nod about other sports.
