Every planet has its own weird customs. About a year before we met, I spent six weeks on a moon where the principal form of recreation was juggling geese. My hand to God. Baby geese. Goslings. They were juggled.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

My name's just an Old Testament name that my mother liked when she was religious. I like that it's turned out to be oddly appropriate, though. The Girl and I are going to be drawing on the story of Ruth and Naomi (my name) in our civil partnership blessing. And our rings are going to be engraved with "Your people shall be my people, and your God shall be my God" in Hebrew. It's relevant.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I never fail to be offended by the term breeders. Maybe because I can't work out if it's supposed to include me.

I'm having the most massive abdominal pain. This will complicate things in the ER. Also, my life.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And our rings are going to be engraved with "Your people shall be my people, and your God shall be my God" in Hebrew. It's relevant.

That's beautiful.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

The Girl and I are going to be drawing on the story of Ruth and Naomi (my name) in our civil partnership blessing. And our rings are going to be engraved with "Your people shall be my people, and your God shall be my God" in Hebrew. It's relevant.

That sounds wonderful. So perfect.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

We're happy about it. Or we would be, if all the religious gay couples we know whose blessings we've been to (about four now) hadn't used Ruth and Naomi in their readings already. Along with the hymn we want. (LGBT Christians. It's a rather small community. We already have wedding clichés. Go us.)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

If it makes you feel any better, most of the non-religious Jews I know who had not-traditional-Jewish weddings but wanted to have their religious culture represented used Ruth & Naomi too. So, uh, the girl is a cliche on the other side too?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Trying to type around a cat. Again.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I never fail to be offended by the term breeders. Maybe because I can't work out if it's supposed to include me.

I used to be somewhat offended by the term. Then I gave my sperm to a lesbian so she could breed....

Hmmm... I just haven't heard the term much at all in recent years, and no one's called me a breeder in 10 or 15 years.

She'll be so pleased!

Compassionately intolerant

"Wither thou goest, I will go."

I absolutely love that quote.

It's right up there with, "As Willow goes, so goes my nation."

And, I'm not even kidding.
