Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I can attest that going through the Staff Only doors at TJs is a bit less magical when you actually work there, although I have to say I really enjoyed working there. They used to pay us to attend a wine and cheese tasting every time a flyer came out so we could sample the new products.

If you are unsure about chiros, an osteopath can do adjustments, too. And may be insurance covered.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oh, Connie, you know they don't want to lose you. The solution may be contract because then they're paying you over a two week to four week patch while they repost the thing. But you'll be back.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Who played the Judge in this week's The Good Wife? He escaped me.

I know they don't, but they so fucked up the entire process, and they did in fact just let someone go who is in my exact employment situation, because they screwed up the hiring procedure and it was easier to let him go than try to keep him.

I would be far less stressed about this if they hadn't been stalling on this for the last 3 years.

call me jacki; zuisa is an internet nick from ancient times =)

I spent so much money today buying things for the ship. I feel as though they really ought to have paid me in advance, or something. It was tons of things that I don't really need in terms of basic day to day life, but all the things they have sent me very strongly suggested that I be as attractive as possible at all times (god forbid the passengers have to look at average looking staff, I guess?) and wow did I buy a lot of things for making this happen. I suppose lots of girls already own lip gloss and eyeshadow in more than one color and fancy anti-humidity hairspray, but alas, not I.

In significantly more fun news, my friend and I decided to go to the craft supply store and make ourselves copies of the choker necklace Veronica Mars wears in every episode, because we are super nerdy and thought it would be fun. They came out amazingly!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yay, Galaxyzoo! Everyone should zoo!

I would totally be flipping my lid in your position, Suela. I hope it all works out favorably for you.

Small but good day at classes today. Then I lolled around, eating Stouffers (that we bought for the housesitter) and reading my Nook. I read Dorian Gray and a pamphlet about making smoothies and a third of the book the SO wants me to read.

Jeez, 'Suela, how ridiculous. Wishing you much luck.

they brought a lawyer who was in her mid-30s and had curly dark hair and I just kept thinking she was related to you, because she had your shape face and hair much like yours. She was very cute!

Hah! And yay cute-me-alikes. :)

I take chiros with a grain of salt, erin--they seem to think they can solve everything from sinus problems to diabetes. Which I think is a big load of bullshit. That said, I LOOOOOOVE having my back cracked--normally I'd lean back over a chair, or have a friend pick me up, but the chiro does it best (and can crack my neck, which is amazing and something I trust to a professional). One thing I'd suggest--ask what the insurance rate is, even if your insurance doesn't cover it. My old one did--at $30 a pop, and the cash rate was $60. When I got new insurance that didn't cover it, I told them I'd keep coming if I could pay the insurance rate and they let me!
