From the episodes I've seen (I haven't seen all of them) they handle the fat stuff relatively well -- in the first few episodes, there were some fat jokes from Mike's friends, but those seem to have been toned down a lot in the last few episodes, and there have been enough lines that ring really true that I can tell that someone on their writing staff knows what they're talking about, even if that person might not be the one writing the jokes. What's been bothering me mostly has been how much they rely on the same old stereotypes about men and women in relationships -- like, all the time, the conflict is that Molly wants to dress up fancy and go to a nice dinner and the opera, while Mike wants to wear sweatpants and stay home and watch the game on TV.

Happy Belated, msbelle!
I had an awesome afternoon out of the house with Juliana, eating and buying wigs and then having a drink or two.
Long sleeved tshirt, ugly grey fleece, jersey knit pants, men's athletic socks in black. Outfitted by Target's sale selection, pretty sure.

We have literally the opposite problem, including the dressing up fancy.
eating and buying wigs
You're not supposed to EAT them!!!
Sorry, feeling silly. Glad you had a good afternoon, sounds like fun.
Happy Belated msbelle!
My Xmas present from my brother and his family arrived tonight. A Kindle, with a cover and an AC adapter too. So I have spent the evening reading Pride and Predjudice. There seems to be less available for the Kindle outside of the US, which chagrins me. Especially not being able to subscribe to the New Yorker. But there's lots to investigate out there.
I have had a sort of cold for about a week now. And it decided to get worse today. My energy was fine, but I was very congested and coughing. I also had no tissues at work, so all day I was blowing my nose in napkins I stole from Starbucks.

What's what the wig guy said, too!
I am wearing sweatpants, and nothing else! AIFG!
I do wish that for once they would show a man as the prime mover social-wise in a relationship, as I am certainly not. Although I have definately experienced the feeling from a partner that I SHOULD be the prime mover. My BFF's brother and his wife have that kind of relationship, and I love it (although it leads to my BFF wrapping her brother's christmas presents, which is weird, but I sort of love that the wife is like-- "I am not wrapping your christmas presents just because I am the girl"
