Happy Belated msbelle!

My Xmas present from my brother and his family arrived tonight. A Kindle, with a cover and an AC adapter too. So I have spent the evening reading Pride and Predjudice. There seems to be less available for the Kindle outside of the US, which chagrins me. Especially not being able to subscribe to the New Yorker. But there's lots to investigate out there.

I have had a sort of cold for about a week now. And it decided to get worse today. My energy was fine, but I was very congested and coughing. I also had no tissues at work, so all day I was blowing my nose in napkins I stole from Starbucks.

What's what the wig guy said, too!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I am wearing sweatpants, and nothing else! AIFG!

I do wish that for once they would show a man as the prime mover social-wise in a relationship, as I am certainly not. Although I have definately experienced the feeling from a partner that I SHOULD be the prime mover. My BFF's brother and his wife have that kind of relationship, and I love it (although it leads to my BFF wrapping her brother's christmas presents, which is weird, but I sort of love that the wife is like-- "I am not wrapping your christmas presents just because I am the girl"

Snow is turning much more pellet-y. At least my windshield is tarped. Less scraping in the morning.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

We had freezing rain that turned into rain. It was a pain coming home, as ice was all over the place and it was hard to see it.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Even though I have my share of social , Matt is the mover and shaker in our house. He is sometimes surprised when I have a plan that doesn't include him . I seem to be the present buyer, which is odd but whatever. And no one in our house watches the game

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Everybody said, PNW is rainrainrain, constant rain. I know, I said, but I *like* rain. Well, it's a good thing. I thought I was prepared. But really? Lots and lotsa rain. Makes me appreciate the brilliant and beautiful sunny days we get. But yeah, rain.

H would happily ignore any and all holidays, including his birthday. I soft-pedal things just for him. StE was my partner in sneaky gift-buying-hiding-wrapping, seekrit plans-making, prep, baking, decorating, and anticipation. It's harder to do when you're the only one who enjoys both the prep and the unveiling. Neither of us unwrapped a single thing this holiday, and I was the one who picked out the ornaments, paper, cards, and wrapped, wrote mushy notes and packed everything to mail. H took it to the post office.

He has other attributes that offset this particular lack.
