Have you heard of 6 for 6?
While I agree most people have way more clothes than they need, I don't get the point of that one.
Did you realize that no less than six major operas are set in Seville?
Or, as I'll always think of it, the city where I met Ascot Man.
There's not really a point to be made. Just doing it for whatever reason you want to do it. I think when I redo my closet, I'm going to get 6-10 basics I can wear for a month or two before figuring out a style and working that in.
I haz all your Kat! Had a great time with the fam.
Such a good crazy day today. I'm tired, but it was worth it. Heading out for a midnight show now, Young Dubliners.
Liese, you really are such a ROCKSTAR! I can't believe you're going out. I'm in my inside pants and getting ready for bed.
Also, Perkins, I am going to circumvent the nail polish exchange order (sorry Amy!) and hand the box to liese tomorrow. I am sorry to screw up your system but it will get moving faster this way. I hope you won't hate me.
No problem for me, as long as Liese sends the box to Amy before too long.
Ooo, Young Dubliners are good fun, Liese. Have a great time.
Ah, I haven't read the Doctor Who books it sprang from(I've read a few summaries as part of figuring out what the hell) so I guess we're coming from opposite ends. Perhaps we'll meet in the middle eventually (I don't know what that means, either.) Oh, you might enjoy Miles' comments on The Ancestor Cell if you haven't seen them: [link]
Heh. I take it much less personally than he does, but I can't really argue with it. It's a shame if he stopped reading Doctor Who novels there, though. Some of the subsequent ones were excellent.
Cass and I met Una today! She was at the author event for Ellen Schrieber, and came up to ask me how many Buffistas were there, because I was kind of recognizable. Hee! She was very nifty.
I don't just have way more clothes than I need, I have way more stuff than I need. Most of us do. I'm not apologising for that. I like my clothes. I actively enjoy, like, eighty percent of my wardrobe. I'm not going to try make it through the month on six types of food or fewer books or tv shows just so I can say I made do with less. Yes, rampant consumerism. Also, fuck you.
I didn't read far enough into that site to work out how to look professional at the office and not spend your life doing laundry either.
East coast insomnia checking in. Speaking of wardrobe consumerism, apparently there's a sale at both Saks and Ann Taylor today. Seems like it's the only way I get pre wedding family time with some folks. I don't actually like shopping.
I have discovered a wonderful online comic, Scandinavia and the World [link]
It's done by a Danish woman, and it's sort of RPS featuring the personifications of the Scandinavian countries and others. It's educational and funny and full of surprise yaoi (poor Germany, he really needs to have Denmark and Netherlands leave him alone, it's making Sister Japan a little anxious, not that Denmark and Netherlands need much encouragement that way).
Oh, and the opinions of Europeans re: America can be eye-opening to those who think we're universally loved.
