In the books, Watson is hoping Holmes will get interested in one of the clients (Copper Beeches, the one about the bicyclist, one of those) because Holmes admires her wit.

But if they want to do the reveal of the villain more slowly it makes sense. I was wondering how Sherlock's fan had found the cabbie.
Eh, I think they thought it was a bit they could edit down with minimal effort just to make room for Alan Cumming being a sexy introduction bitch at the beginning. I mean, they aired it on the BBC with it, and the parts that they could've cut without losing any plotty stuff were more in the action sequences.
PBS airs tons of stuff before and after programs, I bet they cut a good 6-7 minutes out. I really enjoyed it, though!
Hay baling and blacksmithing? Have we snapped back in time?
Here's my contribution: Bob came back from a church event today bandaged up from cutting some croissants. We went to the urgent care "just in case" because he wasn't in that much pain, it was just bleeding. Turns out, he had cut part of his thumb off!
Ack, bon! I hope Bob bob heals up quickly! Croissants are dangerous!
I have no opinion on Holmes having seen neither show nor movie, and having loved the literature, but prepubescent at the time.
Eep! Poor Bob! And ouch!
He'll be fine, there's just...less of Bob.
weird double-post. I don't remember double-clicking.
Ouch! Poor Bob!
Also, I would just like to say, for the record, fuck insomnia. I have to get up in less than three hours and commute an hour across LA, and my stupid brain will not shut up. Tomorrow...sorry, TODAY is not going to be pretty.
Eek! Poor Bob! I hope things heal over okay.
As for Sherlock, either the demisexual or asexual idea work for me. I could also see any possible physical sexual attraction being trumped by his being massively turned off by the person's relative lack of intelligence. In short, unless there was a strong emotional connection, we're talking about a very small pool of potential partners.
I agree that the cut regarding the cabbie makes little sense.
Also, I adore this version's Watson beyond all reason.
Thanks, MFNlaw! It looks like your airport is one hop from mine and could make for a fun cross-country. I'll let you know when I'm soloing.
I'm watching Sherlock now, and finding it tremendously fun. I especially like the focus on Watson. And the "3 patch problem". As I'm only partway through it, I don't think I can comment on the sexuality issue yet.
