Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I haven't looked at this yet, but here's tons of info on the teacher, from Panda's Thumb: [link]

Black Panthers are considered leftist?

How are Black Panthers not considered leftist? They were thugs and often appalling, but they were at the left end of the spectrum on all issues. Feminists (not in practice but in theory), pro-labor, actually did have an awesome breakfast program, pro-environment etc.... I thinking saying someone who is not awesome is not from our end of the spectrum because they are not awesome is called the "No true Scotsman" fallacy.

[On Edit: maybe some confusion with the Nation of Islam? Really good arguments for their being on the right end of the spectrum in 60s and maybe even today.]

The larger issue though: even in 60s and 70s I think there was more violence from the right than from the left, especially since much of it was sponsored by police officers and governors and such. But at that time the argument "both sides do it" might have had some validity even though both sides did not do it equally. Today, the problem of violence in politics in the USA is overwhelmingly a problem of violent right wingers. Maybe some exceptions, but damn few.

Also I will say that in spite of my finding the Panthers appalling, Angela Davis was awesome and still is.

The termination resolution doesn't mention the cross-burning at all. Huh.

Yeah. I skimmed through the site, and only found references to a parent's complaint and a lawsuit.

Thrive to spite them

I've been following the cross burning teacher - his name is Freshwater.

He burned the cross (or he claims an X) with a Tesla coil and the firing resolution doesn't include it because the administration had dealt with it.

If you really want to know all the details go to Panda's Thumb here - [link] the blogger there has all the details and has been closely following the case and even going to hearings.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am mesmerised and horrified by the last panel.
