Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

brillig

Bagel:

Kudos to Barnes & Noble, they just sent out an email saying "Snowed in? You can still get electronic books!" Way to target the marketing, folks.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I don't have a snow day, but I'm taking a "still hacking and coughing day".

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Poor sickos. I have to say, I would have been sorely tempted to take a mental health day some time this week or next (no boss makes me extra lazy), so I love having it today!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My head hurts *so* massively. I'd love to chuck it for a sick day. I don't think I can.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I would like to point out that most mentally ill people, schizophrenics included, don't hurt or kill people.

I have been either terribly busy or sick lately. It is of the suck.

Jilli, you and your family will be in my thoughts. Take care.

Jess, I love those picks. A friend of mine got her granddaughter on Christmas Day, you got A New Year's (?), and a friend found out she was preggers a week before Christmas (also she and my other friend have been married since early Nov. OVERACHIEVER!). So many baby toes!

Also, D looking at A as if to say, "Yeah, not so sure about this..." is my favorite.

I'm sure I missed a bunch more, but I'm not good at catching up.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

A friend of mine called me the other day and said, "I have good news, but not really for two more months." I said HOORAY! She was like, "You know what it is???" Um, yeah.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I would like to point out that most mentally ill people, schizophrenics included, don't hurt or kill people.

I think this is important to remember.

A guest blogger on Ta-Nehesi Coates' blog had some good stuff to say on the subject Police, the Mentally Ill, and How the Former Deals with the Latter

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Also, have folks heard that Palin accused the press of "blood libel"?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, the important person I might have sent the wrong version of the email to? Sent me the message to his assistant telling her to write me back. So now I don't feel bad, if it's going around all over!
