Michael went to work but got there and nobody was there so he came home. (You would think an office of scientists and engineers could come up with a notification plan for severe weather, but noooooo.) He says the roads are terrible. I am wondering if we're going to be homebound all week at this point.

49 of 50 states have snow right now.

Even Hawaii has snow , though it's on a volcano so it's sort of cheating.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Hawaii gets snow at all ever? Wow.

I have an honest-to-FSM Snow Day. Which means I don't get paid, but hey -- snow day, and the first day off I've had in ten days, so yay.

Engineers are supposed to be practical people! They can build bridges and stuff! They just can't operate a phone tree or a web site, apparently.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay baby pictures! So sweet.
