Sometimes I miss having powers... Oh. Oh! I know what this is! This is peer pressure! Any second now you're gonna make me smoke tobacco and--and have drugs!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I do not understand where you're coming from on this one, ita. Not to say I'm not a heathen American, but I don't get why.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Then you can free yourselves too!

Based on the fact that my sister is nudging me again about sending the parents on a cruise, I checked my spending patterns over the past two months.

KerFUCK. Car repair and Christmas vacation do not go well together. And this year will have higher medical bills and bigger deductions from my paycheque. I better get to work on my 2010 FSA refunds.

Because decimal math is simple and glorious and a bit of rounding never killed...never killed many people.

Better to have all the options available, is all I'm saying. Decimals, percentages, fractions - that crazy unit fraction system the ancient Egyptians used even has its advantages. Why limit yourself?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

No fruit yet today but I had a serving of kale and some carrots.

One class down, one to go. First day of teaching is always suspiciously easy.

We are scarring children RIGHT NOW. This must stop.

Opening their minds to new vistas you mean. Expanding their horizons. Fractions forever!

Won't anyone think of the children?

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Crap, crap, crap. I paid my rent one day late. I used a different account than normal, but everything went through the system fine. Today - the 10th - I get a call that the payment failed and I've been hit with an NSF charge along with late fees from the beginning of the month until now. Turns out the account I used "generally" does not have e-payments available.

That sucks donkey nards. When I called to check the facts on the account, I also pulled up my rental payment history. The NSF charge hit on the 6th and I'm only finding out about it today?!?!? Oh, and they want a cashiers check for my rent or I get a 3 day notice. I'm waiting for the rental office to return my call so I can try and figure a way to get them paid and get them to at least remove the fees since the 6th if not all the fees.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I had a serving of fruit (at least) at breakfast today.

Nonian, I wish I could help you. But my org. hasn't really looked into the non-Southern Sudanese military ethnography. We did put together a slide show about our South Sudan HIV work, but aside from maybe being a nice, semi-topical work break, that probably wouldn't help you much. [link]
